We’ve updated our Universal Terms of Service

This Universal Terms of Service Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into by and between GoDaddy and you, and sets out the general terms that apply to your use of GoDaddy products and services. By selecting “Accept and continue”, you acknowledge that you have read this document, understand it, and agree to be bound by all of its terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Overview

1.1. This Agreement applies to every product and service offered through your account, including domain name registration, hosting, website building tools, email, security products and any related support (together, the “Services”).

1.2. Individual Services may also be governed by a product-specific agreement. Where a product-specific agreement conflicts with this Agreement, the product-specific agreement controls for that Service.

1.3. From its effective date, this version supersedes all previous versions of the Agreement. Your continued use of the Services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Definitions

• Account — the customer account through which you purchase, configure and manage the Services.
• Services — the products, tools, platforms and support made available to you by GoDaddy.
• Your Content — any data, files, text, images, domain records or other material you upload, publish or store through the Services.
• Billing period — the recurring term (monthly, annual or multi-year) for which a Service is purchased and renewed.

3. Eligibility and your account

3.1. You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to enter into binding contracts in order to use the Services.

3.2. You agree to provide accurate, complete and current information when creating your account, and to keep that information up to date, including a valid contact email address.

3.3. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity carried out under your account. Notify GoDaddy immediately of any unauthorised access. Enabling two-step verification is strongly recommended.

3.4. GoDaddy may place a temporary hold on an account where there is a reasonable suspicion of compromise, fraudulent payment or breach of this Agreement, and will notify you using the contact details on file.

4. The Services

4.1. The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. GoDaddy may add, modify or discontinue features, provided that no material Service is withdrawn during a paid term without a pro-rated refund.

4.2. You are solely responsible for Your Content, for the configuration of your Services, and for maintaining independent backups of any data that is important to you.

4.3. Some Services rely on third-party providers, registries or platforms. Those providers’ own terms and policies may apply to the portion of the Service they supply.

4.4. Beta or early-access features are offered for evaluation, may change without notice, and carry no availability commitment.

5. Fees, payment and renewals

5.1. Fees for the Services are set out at the point of purchase and are charged in advance for the applicable billing period. Promotional pricing applies to the initial term only; renewals are charged at the then-current standard rate.

5.2. Automatic renewal. Unless you turn it off, eligible Services renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and the payment method on file is charged. You may disable automatic renewal at any time in your account settings.

5.3. You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file. If a charge fails, GoDaddy may retry the payment, suspend the Service, and after a grace period cancel it.

5.4. Refunds, where available, follow the applicable refund policy for that Service. Domain registration and renewal fees are generally non-refundable once the registry has processed the transaction.

5.5. Prices exclude taxes and duties unless stated otherwise. Applicable VAT, GST or sales tax is added at checkout based on your billing address.

6. Domain names

6.1. Domain name registrations are subject to ICANN requirements, the policies of the relevant registry, and the applicable Domain Name Registration Agreement, each of which forms part of your arrangement with GoDaddy.

6.2. You must keep registrant contact data accurate and complete. Providing false contact data, or failing to respond to a verification request, may result in suspension or cancellation of the domain.

6.3. Domain disputes are handled under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and related procedures. GoDaddy acts as registrar and does not decide the merits of such disputes.

6.4. Transfers, renewals, redemption and deletion follow registry timelines. Fees may apply for restoring a domain after expiry.

7. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

• use the Services in compliance with applicable law and with the Acceptable Use Policy;
• hold all rights and permissions necessary for Your Content, including rights in any material you publish;
• keep software you install and manage on hosting Services patched and secure;
• respect the rights of third parties, including intellectual property and data protection rights;
• respond to abuse or verification notices within the time stated in the notice.

8. Restrictions

8.1. You may not use the Services to send unsolicited bulk email, distribute malware, run phishing or fraudulent schemes, publish content that infringes the rights of others, or host material that is unlawful in the jurisdictions where it is served.

8.2. You may not attempt to interfere with the Services, circumvent technical or usage limits, probe or scan infrastructure without authorisation, or resell the Services except under an authorised reseller arrangement.

8.3. Breach of this section may lead to immediate suspension or termination, removal of content, and where required, disclosure to law enforcement.

9. Privacy and data protection

9.1. Personal data is handled in accordance with the Privacy Notice, which forms part of this Agreement, and with applicable data protection law, including the GDPR and the UK GDPR.

9.2. Where GoDaddy processes personal data on your behalf as a processor, that processing is governed by the Data Processing Addendum, including its transfer safeguards.

9.3. GoDaddy maintains organisational and technical security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, logging and regular backups of platform infrastructure.

9.4. You may request access to, export of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to information GoDaddy is required to retain by law or by registry policy.

10. Intellectual property

10.1. GoDaddy retains all rights in the Services, including software, interfaces, documentation, trade marks and brand assets. Nothing in this Agreement transfers those rights to you.

10.2. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services during the term of this Agreement and for their intended purpose.

10.3. You retain ownership of Your Content, and grant GoDaddy the limited licence needed to host, transmit, display and back up that content in order to operate the Services.

10.4. Claims of copyright infringement are handled through the notice-and-takedown process described in the Copyright Policy.

11. Availability and support

11.1. GoDaddy aims to keep the Services available at all times but does not warrant uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance is announced in advance and scheduled, where practical, during off-peak hours.

11.2. Guides and support are available through the Help Center and the support channels listed in your account. Response times depend on the Service and the plan in use.

12. Warranties and limitation of liability

12.1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

12.2. GoDaddy is not liable for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Services.

12.3. GoDaddy’s aggregate liability under this Agreement is limited to the amounts paid by you for the affected Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12.4. Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Term, suspension and termination

13.1. This Agreement takes effect on acceptance and remains in force for as long as you hold an account or use the Services.

13.2. You may cancel a Service or close your account at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

13.3. GoDaddy may suspend or terminate Services for non-payment, for breach of this Agreement, or where required by law or registry policy, with notice appropriate to the circumstances.

13.4. Following termination, Your Content remains retrievable for 30 days, after which it is deleted in line with the applicable retention schedule.

14. Changes to this Agreement

14.1. GoDaddy may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes are notified at least 14 days before they take effect, by email or through your account.

14.2. If you do not accept the updated terms, you may cancel the affected Services before the effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

15.2. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting each other and allowing 30 days for a response before commencing formal proceedings.

15.3. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief to protect its intellectual property or the security of the Services.

16. General and contact

16.1. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.

16.2. This Agreement, together with the policies referenced in it, constitutes the entire agreement between you and GoDaddy in relation to the Services.
